Mood expresses the speaker's relationship between an action and reality. Verb moods act as predicates in a sentence. The Tuvan language has indicative, imperative, conditional, and other moods .

The indicative mood denotes the actual presence or absence of an action in the present, past or future tense. In Lessons 8, 12, and 13, we examined the forms of the indicative mood. For example, in Lesson 8, the verbs кылып тур – he does, кылбайн тур – he doesn't do, көрген мен – I saw, көрбээн мен – I didn't see, келир мен – I will come, албас мен – I won't take; in Lessons 12 and 13, the verbs алган мен – I took, албаан мен – I didn't take, кирген бис – we entered, кирбээн бис – we didn't enter, алдым – I took, албадым – I didn't take, билдим – I understood, билбедим – I didn't understood and others express real actions and the speaker's attitude towards them: кылып тур мен – I do, i.e. the action is actually performed by me; кылбайн тур мен – I don't do, i.e. the action is not performed by me, without any doubt.
