Adjectives denote the quality, belonging, attribute of an object and answer the questions кандыг? (which one?), кайы? (which?), чүлүг? (having what?).
Examples.
Кандыг? Кайы?
улуг – big
Чүлүг?
тоннуг – dressed
хылдыг – with string (what? which one?)
Note 1. In different situations, the same adjective can have different shades of meaning and answer different questions. For example, тоннуг кижи (кандыг кижи?) – a dressed person (what kind of person?): тоннуг кижи (кайы кижи?) – a dressed person (which person?)
Note 2. Tuvan adjectives do not change according to gender and number, for example: улуг даг - big mountain; улуг даглар – big mountains; улуг балык – big fish; улуг соңга – large window; улуг кижилер – adults. Remember. Tuvan adjectives always adjoin the word they define; they do not change in the role of a definition, for example:
чараш кыс – beautiful girl;
чараш кыстың – a beautiful girl;
чараш кыска – a beautiful girl;
чараш кысты - a beautiful girl;
чараш кыста – from a beautiful girl;
чараш кыстан - from a beautiful girl.

Adjectives in чүлүг? mean "having, possessing, containing something": угаанныг – clever; хүндүлүг – respected; өөрүшкүлүг – joyful; дузалыг – useful.
Some translate as a noun with "with" or "in": сүттүг шай – tea with milk; чигирлиг хап – a sack with sugar; карттыг ном – a book in a cover; аъттыг кижи – a man on a horse.
